Pricing Information (Please select delivery location) Product DescriptionWE RIDE BUT BRAD AND CAV DON'TThe bike tests are coming thick and fast this year. In this week's Cycling Weekly our Tech team look at mid-range race bikes in our popular Performance Bike of the Year grouptest.
The £1,200 to £1,600 price bracket that these six bikes fall into is the most competitive out there, and all major manufacturers hit this range with excellent bikes. When forking out that much on a bike you want to make sure you pick the right one but the choice can be baffling and there's little chance of test riding them all. That's where our Tech team come in. They selected six of the best bikes and pitted them against each other. Racking up the miles in all conditions in order to find the best one. If only it was that simple to find a winner out of the UCI and ASO. Their feud has been going on for over a year now, and seems to become ever more bitter. Perhaps what they don't realise is that the fans don't care much for the politics of running the sport, they just want to watch the racing. It is now affecting our riders, as Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish have had to pull out of Paris-Nice. It's a big year for the British pair as they build up to the Olympics, and they now find themselves on the back foot. All they want to do is race their bikes and that's all we want to see. Also in this week's mag, we bring you reports from Het Volk and the Eddie Soens Memorial Race, talk to Paul Sherwen in this week's Big Interview, plus the usual selection of health and fitness advice, great routes to ride, Dr Hutch and much more.
